With the March primaries less than a month away, Hays County is creating an Elections Integrity Taskforce to "streamline" the process of investigating allegations of voter-related crimes.
Even though Hays County says instances of criminal wrongdoing by voters is very low, Elections Administrator Jennifer Doinoff says her office, the Hays County District Attorney, and the sheriff's office are partnering to create the Elections Integrity Taskforce. "...if people don't have confidence, they really don't participate in the process," Doinoff said. "So, I think it's most important to try to do everything we can to be transparent and to have safe secure elections."
