Josh Devereaux Jarratt, 45, of Kyle, pled guilty to a more than 30 felony charges, including continuous sexual abuse of a child.
A Hays County man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison in a child sex abuse case, county officials said. Josh Devereaux Jarratt , 45, of Kyle , entered guilty pleas to more than 30 felony charges, including one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, two counts of indecency with a child by contact, one count of indecency with a child by exposure and 30 counts of possession of child pornography.
Man who died in custody had 108-degree body temperature, San Marcos police say Jarratt will not be eligible for parole and will be required to serve the full 40-year sentence, according to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office. Jarratt sexually abused a child at his home for several years, according to the district attorney’s office. The child told a friend in 2021, leading to Hays County Sheriff’s Office investigation, officials say.
