One-time Amarillo, Texas city councilman hopeful, Gucci runway model and internet goofball Hayden Pedigo has tasted the riches from both sides of the coin: His political endeavors garnered national recognition and led to a documentary, while his music has established him as one of the world’s best guitarists. Now, Pedigo aims to make good on his masterful, 2021 LP, arrives on June 30 and is another chapter in the fingerpicker’s ongoing, compelling archive of sun-baked Texas pastorals.
Pedigo has presented himself in numerous ways: Norwegian death metal purveyor; Texas Karate Institute owner; 14th Dimension shapeshifter; ten-gallon hat mogul. However, the biggest part of his methodical madness is his musicianship, in which he draws from a well of inspiration provided to him by country pioneers like Terry Allen and Pete Drake. In turn, Pedigo constructs emotional, perfect, instrumental guitar concertos that tell greater stories than lyrics ever could.
