Sen HawleyMO said DHSgov SecMayorkas “will have to be impeached” in order to make it clear that Republicans will not stand by and watch the endangerment of children along the border. 'They are willing to sacrifice kids into a life of slavery.'
On Tuesday, Hawley blasted Mayorkas during a public hearing on Capitol Hill, accusing him of implementing policies that caused “modern-day indentured servitude of minor children” within the United States.“He will have to be impeached,” Hawley told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “The House of Representatives can impeach him, and that will send a message, Laura. We can have an impeachment investigation.
Hawley accused the Biden administration of not keeping track of 345,000 children who have crossed the border only to be given into the hands of smugglers and forced into child labor.“They are willing to sacrifice kids into a life of slavery if that serves their purpose to have an open border,” Hawley noted. “Mayorkas has facilitated the biggest child smuggling and trafficking operation in American history.
During Tuesday’s hearing, Hawley told Mayorkas directly that he should resign or face being removed from office.
