Malaysian-born Sim Leisure Group has announced a collaboration with Australian company HavenXR to develop the HavenXR Centre, an extended reality
medium for immersive movie experiences. The centres are set to open in both Malaysia and Singapore in Q1 of 2024.
HavenXR will provide a mix of virtual reality as well as practical effects for an interactive cinematic experience, where customers will get to roam and explore the virtual world as well as pick from a set of characters for choose-your-own-storyline plots. The company says that it will be able to accommodate up to four people at a time for these sessions.Location-Based Virtual Reality using a proprietary headset setup that is being developed.
