SCARY BEACH — When I was a kid, I had a condition. I believe the medical term is scaredy cat. I had to sleep with a light on until I was about 12. I also had this weird thing where I could not sleep with my back to my bedroom door. Because if my back is to the door, how on earth will I see the murderer coming in to end me? I mean, sure, my eyes were closed, but still, I couldn't have my back to the door.
While I can now sleep in the dark and turn my back to my bedroom door, I still have a thing about having my back to people. At restaurants I have to sit where my back is facing the least amount of people, which drives my wife insane. Also, when I work, I can't set my desk up like a normal human being to look out the window; I need to ensure I am facing the door.this videoToby Nichol, a construction worker from the U.K.
