UP IN THE AIR — A drone ascended to the friendly skies in Canada where it caught the attention of airborne wildlife.
Devin Olsen, who says he is a licensed drone operator, sent his drone up into the air in British Columbia, Canada. That's whenOlsen understands that responsible drone pilots will stay out of the way of wildlife. He says that he knows that drone operators should not attempt to land where wildlife are located.
He says that when the bird of prey attempted to get closer to the drone, he reversed the drone away from the bird. Nevertheless, the bird wasn't done investigating. While in flight near the drone, the bird extended its talons, which Olsen says indicated that the bird was ready to grasp the drone to take it for a meal. Once the bird realized the in-flight drone was not an in-flight snack, the bird backed off and flew away.
Olsen said that catching a shot of a bird in the air is kind of rare, much less having a bird of prey get so close to the drone.Most recent Have You Seen This? stories
