Hot and dry 4th but tracking Beryl
AUSTIN, Texas — As you might expect, it will be straight-up HOT this Fourth of July. We're tracking highs that will get around 101 and, depending on Wednesday's highs, Thursday will likely be our area's eighth consecutive triple-digit day.
While we don't expect to reach Heat Advisory criteria, it will be important to stay hydrated and take a break from the sun every now, especially if you're out grilling.An additional tip while you're outside, especially if you're at the pool or a lake: wear sunscreen, apply it around five to 10 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every two hours. This is important because we're expecting a UV index of 12 on Thursday.
