The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland will return to its original form on January 18th after being closed for 16 months for refurbishment and holiday overlays. The attraction last operated in its classic mode in August 2023 and will be back with a few surprises, including updated scenes featuring Constance Hatchaway and the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
During the closure, Disneyland transformed New Orleans Square with a new Tiana’s Palace restaurant, reimagined Magnolia Park, replaced Splash Mountain with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, added Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond gift shop, and redesigned the mansion’s grounds with a new mausoleum-themed handicap-accessible elevator. The Haunted Mansion closed for its annual Nightmare Before Christmas transformation in August 2023 and remained in holiday mode when it reopened in July 2024. The holiday overlay will be removed on January 7th-17th, and guests can expect long lines when the attraction returns to its original form on January 18th.
