1 wide receiver. “Zacharyus Williams is becoming ,” Whittingham said. “If we had to today, he’s wide receiver one. He clocked six grabs and 72 receiving yards in a win against the UCF Knights, while also carrying the ball three times for 11 yards.“I do believe I had a good game, and I do use that as a confidence booster, but I still have to earn my spot,” Williams said this week. “I’m just doing what the coaches tell me to do, come out here ready to work every day. That’s about it.”“He is really dangerous after the catch. That’s one of his main attributes,” the coach said. “He can make some people miss. ... He’s also very good on the jet sweeps. In fact, I’m pretty convinced that, if we had to, he could play running back. I mean, he’s got that natural ability with the ball in his hands.” To start his football career, the Carson, California, native was a running back. Williams said he’s able to use that experience to see the field better as a playmaker on the outside. “I’ve always had that in my bag as one of my skills, and I’m happy to be back playing in that position, as well,” Williams said. “Playing football, I’m having more fun. The more positions I play, the more fun I have.” While Utah will have to wait to see Williams’ full production this fall, he is excited to give Utes fans a sneak peek in the upcoming spring game. Not only will they get a look at Williams, but also new quarterback Devon Dampier and the new scheme from offensive coordinator Jason Beck. “It’s a lot different. Playing style is a lot different,” Williams said. “I just can’t wait for you guys to see.”Co-founder of Utah-based Children’s Miracle Network, which has raised billions for hospitals, diesVoices: The Utah Legislature won a ‘Black Hole’ award.
