Harvard University has suspended its Undergraduate Palestine Solidarity Committee , the group announced Monday.“For the past 6 months, PSC has faced unprecedented repression,” the group wrote via social media. “You can suspend our organization and threaten our students, but you will never silence our calls for Divestment from apartheid, occupation and genocide.
PSC was among several student groups which held a rally on Harvard’s campus last week to show support for Columbia students“The organization will not be recognized and will not have access to university benefits and services during this time, including but not limited to use of campus space and appropriate use of the Harvard name,” an email from Harvard leadership to PSC read, according to the publication.
Members of the group reportedly also suspect the suspension was due in part to their association with the unrecognized group Jews for Palestine.Reacting to the suspension was Harvard Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine , which demanded the school reinstate PSC.. “We call on the administration of Harvard University to reinstate the PSC immediately and drop all charges against our students who are bravely advocating for the oppressed despite the associated risks.
