Harvard University's undergraduate college on Wednesday released data showing a decrease in the number of Black students enrolled in its freshman class. The data follows a 2023 Supreme Court ruling which struck down affirmative action. The practice involved taking race into account when conducting admissions, and it was often enforced to ensure a diverse student body.“Of students who identified their race, 14 percent identified as African American or Black, a decrease of 4 percent from Class of 2027 data,” the release reads.
