Harry Styles is officially a Conner Ives Boy. And he’s one of the first.The London-based label—best known for its “Protect the Dolls” tees—just hit a career milestone. For Styles’s BBC Live Lounge performance, the brand worked with stylist Harry Lambert on a custom one-of-a-kind piece made from vintage silk scarves.
The reconstructed button-down shirt featured a patchwork of brown, burnt-orange, and beige patterns, with polka dots, florals, and stripes galore. Secured at the collar with a matching tie, it was further adorned with gold buttons and contrast cuffs, altogether making for a ’70s-inspired feel, perfect for the Kiss All the Time. While Ives has certainly been used to seeing his T-shirts on everyone from Madonna, Charli XCX, and Addison Rae to Pedro Pascal, Troye Sivan, and Haider Ackermann, his runway collections and custom looks alike had primarily been worn by women. But if there’s one thing that the “Aperture” star’s style has become synonymous with, it’s bending a gender rule or two. So here, he took a cue from the fashion girls who call Ives a favorite, including Sabrina Carpenter, Kylie Jenner, Chloë Sevigny, Olivia Dean, Alex Consani, and Jennifer Lawrence.“So thrilled to have Harry as one of our first CI guys,” the brand shared on Instagram with some behind-the-scenes glimpses at the piece. Styles wore the shirt with high-waisted trousers and performed a cover of Tears for Fears’s “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” along with a handful of songs from his new album, including fan-favorite tracks “American Girls” and “Carla’s Song.”
