“As It Was” is the first piece of new music we've received from Harry since the release of his sophomore album, the former One Direction member's 13-track junior effort, was recorded over the course of 2020 and 2021. The superstar has also released a music video to accompany his newest song, directed by Ukranian Grammy Award-winning director Tanu Muino.
“Directing a Harry Styles video was a bucket list dream come true for me as he’s my favorite performer,” Muino said in a statement. “Shooting him was bittersweet as it was one of the happiest days of my life, but on the second day of the shoot,so you can imagine the insane emotions we had while shooting. Me and my team from Ukraine poured so much love into this video and you can see it on screen. It will be a music video I will never forget and now I can happily retire.
Harry is set to headline Coachella 2022 in mid-April, where he'll perform “As It Was” live for the first time ever. and Justin Bieber, Jackson Wang, Blu DeTiger, and the first live album from Miley Cyrus.The bold, imaginative synth-pop banger “As It Was” marks a new chapter of vulnerability for the megastar, with Harry undressing both literally and figuratively in his new music video.
