Warner Bros. Discovery executives are currently aiming to finalise deals for a streaming project based on JK Rowling's Harry Potter book series, reports have said.
Rowling will "retain a level of creative involvement" on the project but she is not expected to serve as the show runner or be credited as creator, the reports say. The first novel in the book series, entitled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was released in 1997. The Harry Potter film series began with its first feature in 2001 before being followed by the seven sequels, with the last instalment debuting in 2011.
