A mother has described how her daughter was groomed and persuaded to run away from home by a paedophile posing as a teenage Harry Potter fan.

'But I was obviously aware I didn't know any of these children, so as soon as they set up the groups, I asked if I could speak to their parents. 'I rang the police, and they took away the letters and gift. The return address on the post turned out to be a deserted farmhouse in the middle of the Cornish countryside.'
Only last month, teachers were given an unprecedented alert about the danger of children being targeted in sextortion scams.
