New AI art shows off what the Harry Potter world would look like if it took some inspiration from Warhammer 40,000. Harry Potter is a franchise known for its depiction of the titular Boy Who Lived, the Wizarding World, and the evil Death Eaters. Warhammer 40,000, meanwhile, is a tabletop game that depicts a horrific future filled with survivors desperately working to survive amid utter devastation. The two settings are a strange mix and not one that would come together naturally.

Each character appears fantastic with gigantic armor and long-winding capes. The Death Eaters look dark and mysterious, with Draco and Voldemort looking evil. Voldemort also bears a skull-like face with burning red eyes and a severed nose.
Does Harry Potter Need A Darker Aesthetic? Since its depiction of the Wizarding World borrows from medieval settings and avoids the trappings of modern life, Harry Potter always had a unique aesthetic of its own. It helps that Hogwarts is a gigantic medieval castle in the middle of Scotland, separated from the muggle world by layers. However, Hogwarts has largely avoided delving into a darker aesthetic that could show the reality of the Battle of Hogwarts.
The Harry Potter TV show is set to adapt the books while remaining as faithful as it possibly can. While the films elected to use literal darkness to convey the dreary atmosphere of the final movies, the show can lean further into medieval aesthetics to get across the horrific reality that Voldemort wants to build. Borrowing the looks from Warhammer 40,000 is a great way to illustrate how horrifying the Death Eaters can be.
If the show intends to remain faithful to the books, it will need to retain its early whimsy. The show has already become controversial thanks to J.K. Rowling's involvement, but deviating from the source material will only stoke the flames. It will likely instead focus on developing a more realistic Hogwarts and emphasizing the wonders of magic. Regardless of what the show looks like, it isn't extraordinarily likely that Harry Potter will be borrowing Warhammer 40,000 armor anytime soon.
