Harrison Ford, the legendary actor, shares his concerns about the increasing use of AI in the entertainment industry. He believes AI has the potential to 'steal people's souls' and expresses his apprehension during an interview about his upcoming role in Captain America: Brave New World.

Harrison Ford has expressed his concerns about the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in the entertainment industry. The iconic actor, who portrays the US President in Marvel's upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, recently voiced his belief that AI has the ability to 'steal people's souls'.

In an interview with WSJ, Ford was queried about the 2024 video game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, in which actor Troy Baker provides voice and performance capture for Indiana Jones. 'You don't need artificial intelligence to steal my soul,' Ford quipped. 'You can already do it for nickels and dimes with good ideas and talent. He did a brilliant job and it didn't take AI to do it.' Ford's lighthearted response highlights the growing apprehension surrounding AI's role in creative endeavors. Earlier this week, social media users accused Marvel of utilizing AI in one of its posters for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Marvel subsequently issued a statement denying any involvement of AI in its production. Nevertheless, public scrutiny regarding AI's application in the creative process remains high. Throughout 2023, instances of AI integration in entertainment have surfaced. Marvel's Disney+ series Secret Invasion implemented AI for its opening credits, while the Oscar-nominated film The Brutalist utilized AI to refine some of star Adrien Brody's dialogue to sound more authentically Hungarian. Fortuitously, Ford need not worry about AI encroaching upon his role in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which is widely anticipated as a critically acclaimed continuation of Indy's timeless adventures. Marvel appears to have avoided AI in Captain America: Brave New World as well, relying instead on traditional human craftsmanship. This allows Ford to convincingly portray a raging Red Hulk, a formidable being akin to the Hulk, but infused with even greater rage and possessing the ability to incinerate anything he touches. While Ford's character, Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, doesn't initially commence the film in a state of fury, he undergoes a transformation into the Red Hulk for reasons yet to be revealed. This adds to the growing roster of Hulks, which currently comprises three distinct entities: Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo; Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk, introduced in 2022's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law; and Skaar, Hulk's son, who also debuted in the aforementioned series. On Demand Entertainment inquired about Ford's interaction with Mark Ruffalo prior to assuming his role. 'He wasn't available for a consultation,' Ford admitted. 'I just had to wing it. I hope he's not disappointed.' The only individual likely to be disappointed is Ford if presented with a movie concept involving AI
