The nonprofit bike shop will provide free fixer-upper bicycles to students as part of its ongoing work to help the Harrisburg area get around on two wheels.

, Harrisburg’s nonprofit bike shop, have announced a partnership to provide free bicycles, safety training, and technical assistance to students.

With a campus located along Market Street in downtown Harrisburg, the university stands to benefit greatly from students having zero-cost transportation, and the skills that come along with it, said Ross Willard, founder of Recycle Bicycle.Recycle Bicycle started out fixing the bicycles of children in the city, particularly the less fortunate.

Having students engaging with the community through cycling “will make their neighborhood better,” Willard said, and teach students to be more proactive citizens in line with Willard’s core philosophy for Recycle Bicycle.“This collaboration aligns with our commitment to enhancing student accessibility to city-wide services and businesses, supporting our student’s physical health, and promoting environmentally sustainable transportation,” A.J.
