Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams said in a release earlier Friday that the city is ready for the upcoming winter weather.

Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams said in a release earlier Friday that the city is ready for the upcoming winter weather. Our teams have prepared for every possible scenario. While forecasts vary, the City is planning for the most severe conditions while hoping for a more moderate snowfall.

That is what responsible leadership looks like. The city has 22 snow plows, four front end loaders, four utility vehicles, and additional tractor-mounted snow plows. The city also has 200 tons of salt for the roads and more salt is being delivered. The Locust Street Garage and City Island Garage will be available for public use and will be free after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mayor has declared a snow emergency and all vehicles on snow emergency routes must be removed from those streets by 6pm on Saturday.The safety of our residents and our emergency personnel is our top priority.
