Harrisburg officials are calling the alleged kidnapping and rape of a 12-year-old girl "a heinous crime" as they work to prevent such incidents from occurring again. The girl was reportedly abducted and assaulted while walking home from school on November 25.
I Marr Finley was arrested Dec. 4 on multiple felony charges, including rape of a child. He's currently held at Dauphin County Prison on a $250,000 bail.Mayor Williams said Harrisburg City Police are committed to consistent patrolling in school areas as students walk to and from school. "This young girl has endured unimaginable trauma, and we stand united in offering her every resource and measure of support available," Williams said.
"We are putting protocols in place, and in the coming days, you all will see additional protocols we are putting in place. We are creating an advisory committee to continue to work with our school district as we develop a development of our school police department," Henry said.
