Ogg recently supported Cruz's legislation to keep migrants in detention if beds are available. The bill is inspired by the death of Jocelyn Nungaray.
Democratic Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg is crossing the aisle and endorsing U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in his reelection bid against U.S. Rep. Colin Allred . Harris County DA Kim Ogg concedes to Sean Teare in heated Democratic primary race The endorsement comes as Cruz has sought to tout bipartisan accomplishments and appeal to voters on the other side of the aisle — even going so far as to launch a 'Democrats for Cruz' group — despite a longstanding reputation as a partisan fighter.
