Harley-Davidson cited the damage Trump tariffs are wreaking on its financial results
Harley-Davidson today posted a hefty 27% decline in earnings, specifically citing European tariffs that have been levied against the iconic American company's motorcycles by the European Union in retaliation for triffs levied on European goods by Donald Trump's White House.
“The big impact for us is European Union tariffs,” Levatich said. He added that Harley could not afford its growth potential in Europe to be “hamstrung by incremental tariffs” and described the situation as “unfortunate”. Companies cannot simply pass those extra costs onto consumers. They can usually get away with passing along some. but they are competing against companies that are not subject to the same tariffs.
