The East Central football stadium is seen at half time Friday night, Aug. 26, 2022 during the Hornets’ game against the Harlan Hawks.Junior quarterback Noah Farris passed for three scores and rushed for another to pace Harlan’s 33-7 victory over East Central Friday night at Hornet Stadium.
Farris completed 16 of 22 passes for 207 yards and one interception. He completed scores to Jacob Gonzales , Tupac McClure and Izayah Manchester . His rushing TD was from 11 yards. The Hawks limited East Central to 133 total yards and six first downs. The Hornets gained 75 yards on one play on a pass from Austin Vivier to Avery Cane in the first quarter. That set up Vivier’s 1-yard run that made it 7-7 with 6:27 on the clock.
Harlan’s defense, combined with a grinding offense led by running backs Gonzales and C.J. Jackson, allowed the Hawks to control the clock. Gonzales and Jackson combined for 170 yards on 30 carries. Jackson had a 14-yard score with 0:12 left in the game.
