The victim's mother spoke to CBS 21 for the first time since her son, Tyrone Mclemore, passed away in 2024 from complications stemming from a 2012 shooting that left him paralyzed.

Stacey Hills, Tyrone's mother, shared her heartbreaking experience, recalling her son's pleas for survival during the attack. 'I go around on 14th Street only to see my son saying 'mom please don’t let me die, please don’t let me die',' she said. Stacey expressed gratitude that her son had survived the initial shooting, even though it meant his life would be permanently altered. He was paralyzed from the waist down after sustaining four gunshot wounds to his spine. Tyrone bravely fought for 12 and a half years, until his body could no longer endure.
