Hargrave’s McEachern named Pflugerville athletic director

Courtsey photo by Marcus GutierrezThe Hargrave athletic director/head football was announced the new Pflugerville athletic director Thursday night at a special board meeting.McEachern spent 19 years at Hargrave serving as the head baseball coach surpassing 193 wins and spent 16 of those years as the athletic director/head football coach.His best seasons were in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

The 2019 Falcons completed the first undefeated regular season in program history. Also, Hargrave won its first outright district title for the first time since 1984. Hargrave finished the season 11-1 and the 11 wins were also a school record. In 2020 the Falcons won their first ever area round game in school history and won ten games in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history

The Falcons defeated Brazosport 42-12 in a Class 4A Division I area-round playoff game in school history. Last season, McEachern earned his 100th win of his career after the Falcons defeated Navasota at Falcon Stadium in from of the Huffman community.“I don’t think it’s ever a goal to get to get to 100 wins, but when you’re close you start to think about it,” said McEachern in an interview last year. “You always read about people winning 100 or 200 games. When you know it’s almost there you reflect back on how you got here, and you realize all of them have been in Huffman.
