Jalen Hurts isn’t afraid to admit his shortcomings.
The Eagles’ star quarterback, who has been the centerpiece of a controversial locker room situation involving receiver A.J. Brown and other members of the Philadelphia staff, took responsibility for a poor third-and-eight throw to DeVonta Smith early in the second quarter of a 24-15 Black Friday loss to the Bears.
“That’s my fault. I thought you were going to settle down,” Hurts said to Smith as they discussed on the sidelines what happened on the play in a scene featured Tuesday night on “Hard Knocks.”Smith had thought he should continue his route, as he would have had a chance to score a touchdown if he had been hit in stride by Hurts with a clean pass.WFAN pair speak out on Craig Carton return that leaves their futures uncertain Thanks to the incompletion, the Eagles were forced to settle for a 44-yard field goal by kicker Jake Elliott that cut Chicago’s lead to 7-3. Hurts appeared to have a solid relationship with Smith as the two came together to discuss how to avoid this stuff going forward. The latest “Hard Knocks” episode, which follows around the NFC East teams, did not feature any interaction between Brown and Hurts.Brown has reportedly been unhappy with his role in the offense, constantly complaining about a lack of targets, and previouslyHe did have his best game of the season against the Bears with 10 catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns. While the episode did not follow Brown or the Eagles’ internal struggles at length, it did detail back-to-back losses to the Cowboys and Bears.Must be 18+ and present in a state where Underdog operates.
