Hanukkah begins at sundown on Sunday night and people around Arizona are getting into the holiday spirit.
honors the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem as well as a series of miracles, most famously including a one-day supply of oil to light the Temple's menorah lasting eight days.
Beyo also noted the importance not only for him but for the community as a whole of establishing a"family-oriented" celebration for the holidays. "By now we have over 100 people that have signed up to come," Beyo said of the event."We're gonna have live music and something for the kids. We always do something like that for the community. Hanukkah is one of those Jewish holidays where there's a lot of fun and excitement."
Additionally, Beyo told The Arizona Republic about the East Valley JCC's efforts to further connect with young people of faith via TikTok titled"We're starting a new series of TikTok about Jewish history and Jewish culture with the first few starting on the story of Hanukkah," Beyo said.
