The board also agreed to purchase a double-flume waterslide to be installed at the Hampden Pool for the 2022 season.

The interviews with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. , Simone Collins and Yost Strodoski Mears Landscape Architects are expected to be conducted over the next several weeks. Ultimately, the firm that gets the job will engage the public and interested groups, and then draft a master plan for the park, board President Nate Silcox said. The purpose of the plan will be to determine what type of recreation facilities, passive or active, would best fulfill the needs of township residents.

The board also agreed to purchase a double-flume waterslide to be installed at the Hampden Pool for the 2022 season, Silcox said. The 16-foot-tall slide will replace the single-flume slide installed in 1991. The lowest responsive bidder was Lobar Construction, who will install the waterslide manufactured by Avalanche Waterslide at a cost not to exceed $514,112. Hampden Pool will sell early-bird discounted season memberships to the pool through March 31.

Among the other action taken was an awarding of a traffic signal repair and upgrade project for the intersection of Creekview Road and Lamb’s Gap Road. The signal was previously damaged by a motorist and the township received payment for the cost of the repairs, Silcox said.
