A man accused of attacking an elderly couple with a hammer during a home robbery has pleaded guilty to one of 12 charges against him. On Monday, Steven Hall, 38, of Abbottstown entered a negotiated guilty plea to one felony count related to robbery.
Online court records indicate he will spend a minimum of five years in prison.Eleven other charges related to robbery, assault and burglary were dismissed, court records show.Hall was accused of breaking into a Berwick Township home on June 30, 2023, beating the two homeowners with a hammer and stealing cash.'Wake up, he wants our money': Elderly homeowner attacked with hammer during robbery recounts ordeal“When I opened my eyes he was holding her by her house coat so she couldn’t get away and he had a hammer that he was holding in a strike position over her head. I got up out of the chair with my cane and made about three steps and then hit him with the cane and we started fighting and that’s when he started hitting us with the hammer,” he added.
