Murray Aiken and Aaron Reid earned Airdrie a point when they had looked dead and buried at New Douglas Park
Airdrie mounted a dramatic late comeback to end their losing streak and snatch a point off Hamilton Accies in an entertaining Lanarkshire derby.
It stopped the rot for Airdrie, who had lost three straight games in all competitions going into the match, and lifts them up to seventh in the table, while Accies sit fourth. In 10 minutes Accies almost broke the deadlock. They worked a short corner to the feet of Euan Henderson inside the box and when he teed up Oli Shaw for a strike, the forward's powerful drive was tipped over the top superbly by Murray Johnson to deny the hosts.
Just before the half came to a close Ben Wilson forced Charlie Albinson into his first save of the game when he instictively pushed his strike inches wide of the post after the ball had come through a ruck of bodies in the box. Shaw was was a whisker away from a secondgoal of the day in 72 minutes when Stephen Hendrie swung the ball in from out wide and the striker glanced a header just wide of the far corner.
