Hamas has refuted Israeli allegations that they assassinated former political chief Ismail Haniyeh with a precision bomb during the inauguration of Iran's new President. Israeli Channel 12 claimed the assassination was carried out by a remotely controlled bomb placed in Haniyeh's room, but Hamas called the claims a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the crime and a violation of Iran's sovereignty. Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz admitted to the assassination in December.
