Halle Berry's Father's Day Instagram Is for Anyone With a Complicated Relationship to Their Dad

There is very little on the internet about Berry's father, Jerome Jesse Berry. But we do know that her parents divorced when she was young, and he walked out on his family."I haven't heard from him since," Berrya local newspaper in 1992."Maybe he's not alive." He passed away years later, in 2003, in Euclid, Ohio.
She and her older sister Heidi were raised by their mother, Judith Ann Hawkins, a psychiatric nurse. Born in 1968, Berry grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, in the '70s and attended middle school and high school in Bedford. She left Ohio once she started doing pageants, famously becoming Miss Ohio USA in 1986.Now, the Oscar-winner seems to have worked past any anger or resentment toward her father.
