Mac Jones and the offense have sputtered all day as Jacksonville trails Las Vegas 13-7 in a game with high NFL draft pick status the biggest thing at stake on Sunday. The Raiders currently hold the No. 2 pick in the draft and Jacksonville sits at No. 6. The game has looked every bit like a clash between two of the league’s worst teams.

During one sequence late in the second quarter, penalty flags were thrown on four consecutive plays, two apiece for the teams. On the fifth play, Aidan O’Connell’s pass over the middle to Alexander Mattison was dropped on a play that would have gone for a first down. That drop saved Jacksonville from at least another Raiders field goal try.fumble at the 45. It was just the second fumble recovery of the season for the Raiders.

A 26-yard punt return by Devin Duvernay and a unnecessary roughness call at the end of it put Jacksonville at the Vegas 29 and quickly in scoring position. Bigsby barreled in from the 1 for his sixth rushing touchdown of the season to put the Jaguars in front 7-0. The Raiders came right back with a 1-yard touchdown run from Mattison and a 49-yard field goal from Daniel Carlson.Justin Barney joined News4Jax in February 2019, but he’s been covering sports on the First Coast for more than 20 years.Get ready for Insider Deals that offer great savings on gift ideas, home essentials and hair care products.
