At its heart, the show is a coming-of-age tale set in an African savannah. Simba, Rafiki and other widely known characters journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again. They include “Circle of Life,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “Be Prepared,” “Hakuna Matata” and “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.”What:"The Lion King KIDS"When: 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, Nov. 18-20The youngsters have been rehearsing each Thursday for two months under the direction of Ashley Phelps of Clear Lake.“The kids are playing animals and they always have new ideas, which keeps things interesting.
The “mini mentors,” who will perform in production with the younger actors, include Sabrina Stanford, 13, and Natalie Mull, 12, of Pearland; Jaxson Carr, 12 of Dickinson; and Endia Flores, 11, of League City.
