Haley Joel Osment shared a touching tribute to his Sixth Sense co-star Bruce Willis after Willis' retirement. 'He’s a true legend who has enriched all of our lives with a singular career that spans nearly half a century,' Osment wrote.
Haley Joel Osment shares a touching tribute to his former co-star Bruce Willis. The former child actor worked with Willis on the monumental 1999 horror film The Sixth Sense, which was notable for its spectacular twist ending and putting filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan on the map. The film, which followed a child psychologist attempting to help a young boy who can see ghosts, went on to be nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture, though it ended up losing out to American Beauty.
The Sixth Sense is just one of the many varied projects that made up Bruce Willis' long career, which ran the gamut from the dramedy series Moonlighting to the epic action franchise Die Hard. More recently, the two-time Emmy winner reteamed with M. Night Shyamalan for Glass, a followup to his films Unbreakable and Split. Unfortunately, this week, Bruce Willis officially retired from acting following being diagnosed with aphasia.
Despite their dynamic onscreen chemistry, unfortunately Haley Joel Osment and Bruce Willis didn't get the opportunity to work together again after The Sixth Sense. Osment is the latest person to join the litany of stars who are sharing loving tributes to the beloved actor.
Bruce Willis' retirement is a marked loss to the entertainment industry, as there are few action stars of his mold who have proven themselves so capable of switching from action to drama to comedy and back again. Osment is lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him in such an iconic film, and one for which both of them are rightfully celebrated, even decades later.
