Head of Haiti's National Police Academy was shot dead in the capital Port-au-Prince, the latest in a series of deadly attacks in the violence-torn Caribbean nation
Haiti has been plagued by political instability, a series of natural disasters and chronic gang violence, and its police force is insufficient to tackle the gangs.
Harington Rigaud "was shot in the head not far from the academy", said police spokesman Garry Desrosiers on Friday.US authorities have offered up to $1 million for information leading to his capture.For years, Haiti has faced spiraling security, economic and health crises.
