Haitian President Jovenel Moise was assassinated after a group of unidentified people attacked his private residence, the country’s interim Premier Joseph said in a statement on Wednesday adding that Moise's wife, First Lady Martine Moise, is hospitalised."The president was assassinated at his home by foreigners who spoke English and Spanish," Joseph said.

The nation of more than 11 million people had grown increasingly unstable and disgruntled under Moise's rule.
