Tristan Sailor is poised to ink a new two-year deal with the Brisbane Broncos within the coming weeks, confirming he is set to shun interest from rival clubs in a bid to forge his own legacy at Red Hill.
Tristan Sailor of the Broncos and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow of the Dolphins compete for the ball during the Battle of Brisbane at The Gabba on Saturday.
“I should be signing that over the next few weeks, so I’m very excited to stay here. The club’s stood by me and been very good to me, so I’d like to repay the favour,” Sailor said.“I had a long hard think, but I think the Broncos environment is so good and I think we’re building a really good premiership team.
“I think there was interest from the Bulldogs – I sort of left it for my manager to sort that out and just focus on footy – and I think there was maybe the Dogs and some Super League stuff.“But I love the Broncos and that’s why I’ve decided to stay. The Broncos are such a prestigious club in their own right, to have that legacy behind it is so awesome.”
However, it is his play-making nous that could make him the heir apparent to halfback Adam Reynolds’ jumper.
