He will face a judge again tomorrow
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Kulsuma Akter. The 27-year-old, from Oldham , died following an alleged stabbing in Bradford city centre on Saturday .
Habibur Masum, of Leamington Avenue, Burnley, was charged by police yesterday. The 25-year-old appeared in Bradford Magistrates Court this morning . Appearing before District Judge Alex Boyd, Masum spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address, Yorkshire Live reports. He wore a grey, long-sleeved sweatshirt as he appeared at court, flanked by two dock officers.Masum has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. The court heard that both offences were committed at the same time.
Masum has been remanded into custody ahead of his next appearance at Bradford Crown Court tomorrow . DJ Boyd told him: "You are charged with the offence of murder, which can only be deal with at the crown court and that offence is sent to Bradford Crown Court for your first hearing which will take place tomorrow.
"Between now and that date you are remanded in custody. That brings your case to an end today, you can go with the officers."
