Kota Kinabalu: Ketua Menteri Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor yakin kerjasama strategik antara Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd (SPSB) dan DP World (DPW) yang berpangkalan di Dubai, pengendali terminal pelabuhan global, akan membantu aspirasi Sabah untuk menjadikan Pelabuhan Kontena Teluk Sapangar (SBCP) hab pemindahan kapal utama di rantau ini.

Kota Kinabalu: Ketua Menteri Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor yakin kerjasama strategik antara Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd dan DP World yang berpangkalan di Dubai, pengendali terminal pelabuhan global, akan membantu aspirasi Sabah untuk menjadikan Pelabuhan Kontena Teluk Sapangar hab pemindahan kapal utama di rantau ini.

“Sabah adalah sebuah negeri indah dan terletak secara strategik untuk menjadi hab logistik di wilayah ini,” katanya, menambah DP World memilih Sabah kerana kestabilannya, yang kondusif untuk pelaburan.Sulayem berkata beliau akan melakukan yang terbaik untuk menggunakan rangkaian Fortune 500 padanya untuk membawa perniagaan ke Sabah. SPSB, anak syarikat milik penuh Suria Capital Holdings Berhad yang mana Kerajaan Negeri, merupakan pemegang saham majoriti.

Perjanjian itu ditandatangani oleh Sultan Ahmed dan Pengarah Urusan SPSB Datuk Ng Kiat Min. SBCP, sebagai pelabuhan kontena utama Sabah, mengendalikan lebih 70 peratus kargo negeri itu. Sultan Ahmed berkata, dengan lokasinya yang strategik dan banyak sumber asli, Sabah berada pada kedudukan yang baik untuk meraih peluang pertumbuhan yang besar di rantau BIMP-EAGA dan seterusnya.“Kami berbesar hati untuk membawa pengalaman kami dalam mengendalikan pelabuhan untuk menyokong perjalanan transformasi.

“Sinergi dengan DP World berpotensi menangani cabaran kos logistik tinggi yang dihadapi di Sabah, melalui penubuhan rangkaian perkapalan yang kukuh dan pengembangan pangkalan kargo,” katanya.
