Haason Reddick’s holdout is getting costly — both in monetary terms and, potentially, in terms of playing time.
Jets coach Robert Saleh didn’t answer whether the defensive end’s training camp absence, which reached 11 days on Monday, might eventually impact his role or playing time, painting it as a wait-and-see situation.
The Jets offered Reddick an extension that would have increased his salary from $14.25 million this season before completing the deal that brought him to New York, The Post’s Brian Costello reported.The Pro Bowl edge rusher notched 11 sacks last season with the Eagles, but has yet to take the field with the Jets. “I guess it doesn’t matter what I thought at the time,” said Saleh, when asked if he ever thought Haason’s holdout would be a possibility.
