Into a world full of absurdities and affronts, H&M Studio launches a spring 2026 collection based on the idea of the gentle disruption of eccentricity. The word means “something that is a little bit on the side or skewed—it’s not centered, anyway,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, the company’s creative advisor.
Linda Wikell, the lead on Studio collections, “thought that a collection made with that kind of vibe or intuition could be really interesting because it sometimes feels that everything today looks very much the same and everything leads to these kinds of archetypes,” Johansson continued. “How can we then make that a little bit more interesting?” The team’s answers included asymmetric cuts , raw edges, slits, shrunken lapels, and exaggerated lengths . Tiny lingerie bows on pieces made from shapewear material in muted pastel colors referenced the kawaii culture of Japan, where the team traveled in search of inspiration this season. As usual, the tailoring pieces—particularly the funnel-neck jackets—were the standouts in a collection that was desirable, if more tame than offbeat.
