H-E-B's donation comes as communities on the East Coast still do not have water or power in the wake of Hurricane Helene's deadly destruction.
To help communities on the East Coast rebuild from Hurricane Helene 's devastation, H-E-B will donate half a million dollars and several truckloads of products including shelf-stable food, water, baby items and other essentials. With more than 200 people dead and and hundreds still unaccounted for, Helene is the deadliest Hurricane in the mainland United States since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Helene made landfall on Sept.
'Since this devastating storm began, H-E-B has been in close contact with area nonprofits and Feeding America to support their critical outreach,' the company wrote. 'We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with Feeding America and other area nonprofits there to help with additional needs as they arise.' Power outages caused by Helene were so large the darkness was visible from space, AP News reported.
