Gypsy Rose Blanchard is sharing her opinion about 'The Act,' the 2019 Hulu limited series that was based on her life. Blanchard told Us Weekly she had mixed feelings after watching just one episode of the series, which starred Joey King as her and Patricia Arquette in an Emmy-winning performance as her late mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. “I think Joey King did an amazing job playing me,” she said.
“When I was about to get released, I was sitting in my prison cell and I was thinking about all this and I’m like, ‘I’m so tired of this prison version of myself that I think people know me by.’ … I want to break that mold and show people who I am as an individual,' she told Us Weekly. Blanchard also said that life outside of prison has been a struggle for her. “Everything around me is different.
