Dee Dee Blanchard had a chilling interaction with daughter Gypsy Rose Blanchard ’s boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, right before she was murdered by him in 2015.on Tuesday.
“It was a horrible sound. It was screaming. It was shock. ”Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed on the “We Need to Talk” podcast what mom Dee Dee Blanchard said before she was murdered.
Gypsy Rose said she heard Dee Dee ask Nicholas Godejohn, “Who are you? ,” before he stabbed her to death in June 2015. The 34-year-old said transcripts of Godejohn’s testimony and his conversations with other inmates in jail confirmed Dee Dee asked him who he was. Dee Dee was stabbed to death on June 10, 2015, by Gypsy Rose’s then-boyfriend in a plan concocted by the two.
Gypsy Rose also said she heard her mom calling out for her when she was killed. Dee Dee suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder in which parents make up sicknesses or cause real symptoms to make their child appear ill. , while Godejohn, 37, is serving a life sentence.
On the podcast, Gypsy Rose, who was hiding in the bathroom while Godejohn murdered Dee, revealed her mom called out her name during the stabbing.
“I felt like I wanted to go and help her, but I was terrified at the same time,” she explained. “Like my body was paralyzed. I couldn’t move. And I was so focused and trying to breathe and block it out.
” Gypsy Rose admitted she wanted to help Dee Dee but was “paralyzed” in the moment.

“And he wanted me to hug him,” she continued. “So there was this sort of embrace where I was in a state of shock. But I couldn’t believe what happened. ” When Gypsy Rose completed her parole in June 2025, she described Godejohn as a “deeply disturbed man” in a since-deleted Instagram post.
