Few directors have as many action hits in their filmography as Guy Ritchie. The action/crime savant has amassed dozens of entertaining thrillers over the years by working with actors like Jason Statham, Matthew McConaughey, Henry Cavill, and more.
One of Ritchie’s most famous projects came over 15 years ago when he teamed up with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law for Sherlock Holmes. The story of the iconic British detective has been brought to the big screen plenty of times, but many would argue that Ritchie’s version in 2009 is the definitive iteration. He even returned a few years later for a sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which remains his only true sequel. He’s not done with the world of Sherlock Holmes, though. Guy Ritchie has been tapped to serve as one of the primary directors on Young Sherlock, the new prequel series set to air on Prime Video on March 4. All episodes of the show are being released at once in early March. The new series will follow a disgraced young Sherlock Holmes who is caught up in a murder that threatens his liberty. When he takes it upon himself to solve the mystery, he finds himself in an international conspiracy that may just lead to his death. Hero Fiennes Tiffin has been tapped to star in the new series, and Today we are happy to partner with Prime Video to exclusively preview a new image from the show of Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes and Dónal Finn as James Moriarty, as part of our Collider’s Exclusive Spring Preview event. Additional cast members include Zine Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou’an, Holly Cattle as Edie, Ravi Aujla as Kishore Malik, and more. Who Is Writing Prime Video’s ‘Young Sherlock’ Series? He also penned the teleplay for Walton Goggins’ two-part political thriller, Deep State, which is not currently streaming anywhere. The film is currently streaming for free on Tubi and Pluto TV. It’s also available to watch on Prime Video.
