Guy Pearce recently issued an apology for sharing misinformation about Israel in his bid to support Palestine. Here's what he said.
, one of the most acclaimed actors in Hollywood, recently issued an apology for his comments on Jews and Israel online. An outright supporter of Palestine, Pearce reportedly posted several controversial things that can be categorized as misinformation.
In a later revelation, the actor also said he would step back from social media for the time being.recently opened up about “misinformation and falsehoods” that he spread about Israel on his social media platforms. The Iron Man 3 star had reposted articles and stories about Israel and Jews that were filled with misinformation.. The actor said, “It has been brought to my attention that, in my support of Palestine, I have inadvertently re-posted articles, and/or statements, that have contained misinformation and falsehoods.” He added, “I am aware how sharing inaccurate content can cause confusion and distress; for this I am deeply sorry. I will certainly endeavour to be more diligent in future to verify anything I share online.” Pearce reportedly shared material featuring controversial white nationalist Nick Fuentes. He also shared material that seemed to blame Israel for 9/11, among many other articles. Jewish News also reported that Pearce shared a post in November. The post read, “Remember, when Zionists tell you Islam will destroy America… While several major Las Vegas casinos/hotels that have caused gambling addictions, debt, and prostitution were created and owned by Jewish Zionists… The Zionists want you to fear the people who stand against the corruption they are creating.”said, “Earlier this week, I issued an apology for sharing misleading and inaccurate posts and commentary on social media.” He added, “I meant every word of that apology, but I recognize that meaningful action must accompany any apology.
