In the wake of a passing cold front last night, winds will increase, becoming stronger during the afternoon. Upper-level disturbance may produce a couple sprinkles or showers later today.
Last night’s system is moving over New England. As it intensifies, our winds do as well. They are likely to gust 25 to 35 miles per hour out of the northwest. With cooler temperatures, in the low 60s, expected today, it will feel quite chilly. Upper-level energy keeps an isolated sprinkle or shower possible. A potent disturbance will move from southern Lake Michigan south of PA overnight into early Sunday morning. It could bring a couple showers to the area.
High pressure builds in Sunday night into Monday clearing the skies and calming the winds. This will lead to much colder morning lows both Monday and Tuesday. Many areas could see temperatures plummet to the 30s, especially Tuesday morning. We could even see a first frost for many. Sunny skies will prevail both days too. Heading towards midweek, an upper-level ridge builds and turns temperatures around, as milder air returns. Highs may reach 70 degrees or more.
