CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio -- Rachel Jones is retiring after serving 24 years as principal at Gurney Elementary School and 34 years as an educator.“We were hosting a new parent event in the Gurney cafeteria that morning when my secretary came in to tell me and my superintendent what was happening,” she said.

“This has led to established expectations for how we treat each other, students and families, as well as how we make decisions.” At the Jan. 15 school board meeting, the board approved the hiring of Eva O’Mara as the interim principal of Gurney Elementary.
